THE ISSUE
Every year, 18 million tonnes of wild fish are removed from the ocean to produce fish oil supplements. Anchovies, sardines and mackerel, the small pelagic species that form the very foundation of marine food chains, are being harvested at a rate that ecosystems cannot sustain.
The fish don't even make the omega-3s. They eat algae that does. Every bottle of fish oil on the market is a second-hand product, processed from animals that have been dragged from an already depleted ocean, carrying heavy metals, PCBs and microplastics along the way.
This is not a niche environmental concern. It is one of the most destructive practices in global nutrition. And it is entirely unnecessary.
OUR SOLUTION
We built Phytality on a single, undeniable truth: fish get their Omegas from algae. We go directly to the origin. Our omega-3 is cultivated from microalgae, the same organism responsible for all marine omega-3s on the planet, without touching the ocean, without harming a single fish, without compromise.
This isn't a sustainability initiative layered on top of a product. Algae-derived Omega's are simply the superior choice, cleaner, purer, more bioavailable, and with a fraction of the environmental footprint of fish oil.
